About
The Urban Civic Education Minor is an interdisciplinary program housed in the Social and Psychological Foundations of Education Department. The minor emphasizes civic agency and is designed to inform the student about public work, public achievement, and community organizing. Students are required to take a total of nineteen (19) credit hours. All minors are required to take SPF 203: Schools and Society, and SPF 366: Cultural Proficiency and Public Achievement. The minor encourages active participation through service learning and Public Achievement models and reflection in the processes of social, political, and personal change.
